OEM SS2205 Dual Plate Check Valve Exporter, Exporters

Dual plate check valve also called wafer type butterfly check valve. This kind of check vavle has good non-return performance, safety and reliability, small flow resistance coefficient. It is mainly used in petroleum, chemical, food, water supply and drainage, and energy systems. A wide range of materials are available, such as cast iron, ductile iron, stainless steel and so on.

Product Description

A check valve, also known as a one-way valve, check valve, or back pressure valve, is automatically opened and closed by the force generated by the flow of the medium itself in the pipeline, functioning as an automatic valve.

The core function of the check valve is to prevent medium backflow, halt the reverse rotation of pumps and drive motors, and stop accidental medium discharge from containers. The double-plate check valve represents a highly popular design within this category. Through specialized material selection, this wafer check valve efficiently handles media such as water, steam, oil, nitric acid, acetic acid, strong oxidizing media, and urea across petrochemical, metallurgy, electric power, light industry, food, and chemical processing facilities.

Automatic Actuation

Driven entirely by line media dynamics, eliminating external power needs.

System Protection

Stops fluid backflow, protects upstream equipment, and prevents pump reverse rotation.

Flexible Installation

Lightweight wafer design fits easily in both horizontal and vertical pipeline layouts.

Working Principle & Structural Design

The double-plate check valve incorporates a two-lobed circular disc securely fixed to the valve body with a precision pin shaft. Dual torsion springs are mounted along the pin shaft. The disc assembly rests squarely against the valve body's sealing surface. Under forward flow conditions, line media pressure opens the disc plates. When flow reverses or stops, the combined action of the spring reset force and reverse fluid pressure swiftly closes the valve against its seat.

Utilizing a compact wafer-style architecture, this butterfly check valve offers minimum face-to-face dimensions, lightweight handling, robust sealing integrity, and multi-orientation pipe fitting.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is a check valve and how does it operate?
A check valve (also called a one-way valve or back pressure valve) is an automatic device that relies on the natural flow force of media inside the pipeline to open and close. It operates without manual or external power, automatically blocking fluid reversal.
Q: What are the key operational benefits of a double-plate check valve?
The double-plate design uses two hinged discs balanced by torsion springs. It provides rapid response to reverse flow, dependable sealing, compact wafer dimensions, low overall weight, and the flexibility to install in both horizontal and vertical piping.
Q: What size ranges and pressure ratings are offered?
Valves are available in nominal sizes from DN50 through DN800, with pressure classifications supporting PN6, PN10, PN16, and Class 150 (CL150).
Q: Which manufacturing and design standards do these check valves meet?
They comply with face-to-face standards API 609, BS 5155, DIN 3202, and ISO 5752, as well as flange connection specifications including PN6, PN10, PN16, DIN 2501 PN6/10/16, and BS 5155.
Q: What media and industry applications can this valve support?
Depending on body, disc, and elastomer selection, they are suitable for water, steam, oils, nitric acid, acetic acid, strong oxidizers, and urea across industries such as petrochemical, metallurgy, power generation, food processing, and light manufacturing.
Q: What material combinations are available for corrosive service?
Options include bodies and discs made of Stainless Steel (SS304/SS316/SS304L/SS316L), Duplex Stainless Steel (2507/1.4529), or Monel stems, combined with resilient seats like Viton, PTFE/RPTFE, PFA, or specialized coatings (Epoxy, Nylon, PTFE, PFA).
